We've released version The release notes for version 3.4.1 (including changes for non-Android devices) can be found here.

As far as Android specific changes go, Bluetooth keyboards should work better and we've removed the COARSE_LOCATION permission that we previously used for statistical reporting. We've also updated the Scoreloop library to a version that allows you to opt-out of online high score tracking.

Please post in the forums or e-mail us (support@angdroid.org) if you have any problems with the new version. release

I released a new version today. The gameplay is the same as the previous versions, but this version keeps track of scores on an online leaderboard. Scoreloop.com is the service we are using for this. We may end up adding trophies or other features that this service supports.

3.3.2 release

by david » Fri Nov 04, 2011 8:55 am

We've released version 3.3.2 of Angband. Check the Market for the update if you haven't got it yet. This version includes some bug fixes from http://Rephial.org as well as Android specific bug fixes. We've also cleaned up the fonts a little bit so it should be a little more readable. We've also added support for accented characters (Sméagol, Ingwë, etc.). There was another problem going on with save files getting lost. Hopefully that problem is fixed.

3.3.1 release

by david » Thu Sep 29, 2011 9:26 am

We released a new version of Angband yesterday that included version 3.3.1 of the main app. It continues to include 3.06+Borg and 2.4.frogknows as well. Right after we released it, I discovered that 3.3.1 had a serious bug related to not being able to slow monsters, so I had to quickly copy over a patch to fix it. Things should be stable now, but there's probably a 3.3.2 release coming very soon.

If 3.3.2 includes more than just the "slow monsters" patch, we'll probably push it out right away, otherwise I'll have to decide if a release is in order just to make our version numbers match.

New version, variants and roguelikes

We've released a new version of Angband. This version includes version 3.2.0 of the official upstream project.

We've release an app called Angband Variants that includes Sangband, Steamband and ToME.

We've released an app called Roguelike Classics that includes Rogue, Moria and Larn.

All of these apps are now available for download from the market or from the project site (http://code.google.com/p/angdroid).

Angband Nightly Released

by retrobits » Fri Mar 04, 2011 8:27 am

Angband development is very active at the moment. We thought it would be good to produce a nightly Android build based on the current Angband source in the git repo. Be aware that this is untested code and might be broken or crash or eat your save file, etc. It is a completely new Android app and will not affect files in our other releases.

If you find bugs, I would encourage you to open discussions in the forums here and even more importantly please open tickets at http://trac.rephial.org/. For Android specific issues, please report bugs at angdroid.org in the bug forum. I've patched the version number in the game with the timestamp when we retrieved the Angband source from git, so that is a way to track bugs back to the source. Its probably a good idea to reproduce the bug in one of the official nightly builds from http://rephial.org/nightlies/ before opening a ticket at rephial. I figure the more bugs we find and the more feedback the Angband community provide to the devs, the better the outcome will be.

The nightly is available here:

Version 3.1.2v2.2 released

by david » Tue Sep 21, 2010 1:19 pm

It's been a while since the last release, but it's finally here. Most of the improvements for this version were contributed by Dan Vernon and Sergey Belinsky.

You can download the app from the Android market or by clicking on the "Download Program" link in the left-hand column of this page.

This latest version is much faster than the old version and is based on a newer version of Angband.

The previous version save file format is incompatible with this version. If you got upgraded and lost a character that you were playing, don't worry. The character isn't lost. You can downgrade to the previous version by clicking here in your phone's web browser. After you are done with your old character, you can upgrade again.
